Reverse poems are poems when read traditionally send a certain message. When read from the bottom up, send a different message. We tried our luck at some of these. It was a challenge. Sarah even came up with a formula for how to do one.

Reverse Poems

Bob Nothnagel  wrote a reverse poem about writing a reverse poem.

Writing this reverse poem was so hard
Why did I think
I could do such a thing
Because I knew
It seemed so easy
When I started it,
For
That is ludicrous
Now I won’t complete it
To suggest
So
Is a lie
Not finishing this
Is something I’ve accepted
To complete it
I realize now that
My fate is sealed
If I put my mind to it,
I can always write something
But
The reverse poem is impossible
It was foolish to think
It was so easy

The first time I met you
I didn’t like you
I would be lying if I said
There was something between us
I knew
You were going to be trouble
I never thought
You were special
